iPhone Shortcut

One walk. One deliberate record.

Prepare a step sample here, then let an iPhone Shortcut add it to Apple Health.

Your step count and chosen time stay in this browser and are handed directly to Shortcuts.

New health sample

Prepare the record.

steps

Enter a whole number from 1 to 100,000. This adds a sample; it does not replace today's total.

Shortcuts opens on this iPhone. Review the sample, then run it there.

One-time setup

Make the shortcut once.

Apple does not allow a website to write Health data directly. This small shortcut receives the prepared values and performs the on-device write with your permission.

Shortcut nameStep Sync
  1. 01

Open Shortcuts and create a new shortcut named Step Sync.

  2. 02

Add “Get Dictionary from Input” and use Shortcut Input as its source.

  3. 03

Use “Get Dictionary Value” twice to read steps and startAt.

  4. 04

Pass startAt into “Get Dates from Input” so it becomes a date.

  5. 05

Add “Log Health Sample”: choose Steps, use steps as the value, and the parsed date as its date.

  6. 06

Run it once and allow write access to Steps. Keep “Show When Run” on if you want confirmation each time.

Important boundary

It adds; it does not overwrite.

Apple Health combines step samples from different sources according to their time and source priority. This tool cannot see your current total, delete an existing sample, or guarantee a new daily total.
